A state highway will be closed in several counties after a fatal collision between a pickup truck and a tractor-trailer on Tuesday afternoon.
The crash occurred just before 1 p.m. on Interstate 25 in the county of Jefferson Davis.
The Jefferson Davis National Guard was called to the scene to assist the driver.
The interstate was reopened shortly before 2 p.u.m., but the northbound lanes remained closed.
The northbound lane reopened at 3 p.a.m and the southbound lanes were closed.
Drivers should consider alternative routes.
The state highway has a capacity of 40,000 vehicles a day.
