HOUSTON, Texas (AP) A storm system that dumped heavy rain and strong winds in Texas and Florida, including Houston, has now shifted northward into North Carolina.
The National Weather Service in Raleigh says the storm system moved from the eastern North Carolina coast and then moved toward the Carolinas early Saturday.
The agency says it will likely move back to the eastern U.S. by the end of Monday.
The storm will likely weaken over the weekend, according to the Weather Service.
A tropical depression is also forecast to move into North Carolinias northern border from Sunday night.
The agency says the tropical depression could become a tropical storm by Sunday afternoon.
